The Collective is our previously-launched digital newsroom focused on defending all incarcerated journalists, and including journalists targeted for their free speech. We publish stories by incarcerated and free world journalists, legal experts, activists and organizers, focused on spreading awareness, education and resources.
Our Next Level Initiative helps incarcerated journalists expand their audiences and the reach of their journalistic footprint beyond one-time and print publications. We help select journalists become featured topics on new media platforms, including podcasts and YouTube videos.
The EXCUSE US! Project aims to address the disparities that exist in opportunities for incarcerated journalists and writers at women’s facilities. We partner with similarly-aligned groups and organizations to provide writing mentorship to incarcerated women and gender minorities across the country, one facility at a time, beginning with our current ongoing project at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York.
We Are One Advocacy focuses on the inclusion of incarcerated journalists into journalist and free speech organizations, and protecting the First Amendment rights of incarceratd journalists.
Critical Inquiry is an upcoming podcast that explores the crux of criminal and social justice issues through the lens of incarcerated journalists.
